Weapon Leveling

Weapon Leveling is a unique Dragon Crusade system where weapons gain their own level through combat. Unlike traditional upgrading (+1, +2, etc.), weapon levels increase by killing monsters and provide significant bonus damage.

Overview

"Every weapon in Dragon Crusade contains its very own level. Whenever your weapon levels up, it will gain Bonus Damage and a higher Gear Score."

Key Points:

  • Weapons start at Level 1
  • Levels increase randomly when killing monsters
  • Higher weapon level = more bonus damage
  • Weapon level transfers when trading
  • Separate from the +1 to +20 upgrade system
Important Distinction

Weapon Level (this system) is different from Weapon Upgrading (+1 to +20). See Upgrade Systems for the traditional enhancement system using upgrade stones.

How It Works

Gaining Weapon Levels

Weapon advancement operates on a chance-based system, not experience points:

  1. Kill monsters in combat
  2. Each kill has a random chance to level up your weapon
  3. The chance decreases as weapon level increases
  4. Higher-tier weapons level more slowly

Monster Requirements

ConditionRequirement
Monster LevelMust be within 5 levels below your character
Character Level 130 or belowWeapon can be up to 55 levels below you
Character Level above 130Weapon must be within 30 levels of you

Multi-Weapon Classes

"Any class with two weapons or a shield will not benefit from the second weapon's level."

Only your primary weapon (right-hand) grants bonus damage. Shields and secondary weapons do not contribute.

Maximum Weapon Levels

The maximum achievable weapon level depends on the weapon's level requirement and your Dragon Rank:

By Weapon Requirement Level

Weapon Level ReqMax Weapon LevelDifficulty
125Very Easy (0.48x)
1530Easy (0.60x)
2540Easy (0.72x)
3050Medium (0.42x)
4060Medium (0.42x)
60-70100Medium (0.21-0.24x)
80-110100Normal (0.5x)
120150Normal (0.6x)
135-150200Hard (0.7-0.8x)

High Dragon Rank Bonuses

Dragon RankWeapon ReqMax Level
DR 40+150250
DR 60+150300
DR 180+150400

Bonus Damage

Weapon levels grant progressive bonus damage to all attacks:

Weapon LevelBonus Damage
1~2%
10~28%
20~56%
30~109%
50~150%+
100Very High
200+Massive

Exact values depend on the damage scaling formula and weapon tier.

Damage Calculation

The damage bonus uses an exponential scaling formula:

  • Base multiplier is applied per level
  • After a certain threshold, scaling reduces to prevent extreme values
  • PvP has separate, reduced scaling

Leveling Experience Table

The chance to level up decreases at each level. These are the approximate "1 in X kills" chances:

Level RangeKills per Level-up
1-1050 - 1,000
11-201,100 - 9,500
21-3025,000 - 500,000
31-40600,000 - 50,000,000

Higher weapon requirement tiers have additional difficulty multipliers.

Boosting Weapon Level Speed

Weapon Level EXP Scrolls

Special scrolls that increase your weapon leveling rate:

  • Available from events and shop
  • Multiply the chance to level up
  • Stack with other bonuses

Guardian Bonus

Killing Guardian monsters provides enhanced weapon level experience.

Events

Weapon Level events periodically increase leveling rates server-wide.

Weapon Level Scrolls

You can also level weapons directly using Weapon Level Up Scrolls:

Scroll TypeLevel RangeEffect
Basic Scroll1-50+1 Level
Advanced Scroll50-100+1 Level
Premium Scroll100-200+1 Level

Scrolls have minimum and maximum level requirements.

Trading Weapons

"The weapon level is also transferred when exchanging or trading with other players."

When you trade or sell a weapon:

  • The weapon level stays with the item
  • High-level weapons are more valuable
  • Weapon level displays in item tooltip

Strategy Tips

  1. Use appropriate weapons - Don't use a level 150 weapon at low levels
  2. Farm high-density areas - More kills = more chances to level
  3. Check monster levels - Must be within 5 levels of you
  4. Focus on one weapon - Secondary weapons don't benefit
  5. Save level-up scrolls - Use them on expensive weapons
  6. Trade high-level weapons - They retain value

Checking Your Weapon Level

Your weapon level is displayed:

  • In the item tooltip as "Weapon Level: X"
  • Shows bonus damage percentage
  • Indicates "(Max)" when at cap
